River-Wise offers specialist environmental and in particular freshwater studies which are usually required as input into an environmental impact assessment. Our expertise focuses on ecological assessments for surface and ground water-linked systems. We carry out aquatic and wetland studies which would be required in the case of any planned activities around sensitive fresh water systems, with the aim being to assess that environment and ensure that any sensitive aquatic environments are adequately protected.

We also undertake biodiversity, ecological and vegetation assessments with the same aims.

In addition we have vast experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Mapping, which are used to complement our services and enable us to produce accurate and detailed maps of natural boundaries, for example a wetland or riparian edge, or to indicate sensitive areas, as well as the capability for large scale mapping of for example commercial forestry plantation compartments.
